A year after Charlie's daughter disappears, another girl from Elrod, Georgia goes missing. Convinced there is a connection, Charlie draws suspicion and contempt from local law enforcement and townspeople as she stops at nothing to expose its most devastating and darkest secret. Thriller This is an engaging watch that toes the line between all-out true crime whodunit and more intimate family drama ala Three Billboards. While I do agree it's less thriller and more mystery, it's not without some scares and a very well-established foreboding mood of melancholy. This film used its locations and settings very well in building a nefarious, ominous environment that supports the underlying plot point of an all-the-way-to-the-top conspiracy. There's twists and turns to keep you guessing - some are red herrings, others pay off. I'd imagine this is a rewarding watch for any Cold Case fans or Murderinos out there.
